ArtPrize Returns in September with a $500,000 Grand Prize and New Downtown Footprint
Organizers announced ArtPrize 2026 will expand to include the new ICCF Community Hub and a new public sculpture park along the Grand River.
ArtPrize 2026 runs September 18 to October 4, with a record $500,000 grand prize split between juried and public-vote categories. The event expands its footprint to include the new ICCF Community Hub on Division Avenue and a temporary sculpture park along the Grand River near Ah-Nab-Awen Park. International registration opens June 1.
ArtPrize is back — and bigger. Organizers announced Thursday that ArtPrize 2026 will run September 18 through October 4, with a record $500,000 total prize pool and an expanded downtown footprint that stretches from Monroe Center to the Grand River's west bank.
The grand prize structure changes this year: $250,000 will go to the juried winner, selected by a panel of five international curators, and another $250,000 will go to the public-vote winner, maintaining the event's signature democratic element. A new $50,000 "Emerging Voice" prize targets artists under 30 who have not previously exhibited in a major public art festival.

New venues include the ICCF Community Hub at 415 Division Ave S, which offers 8,000 square feet of ground-floor gallery space, and a temporary sculpture park along the Grand River between Ah-Nab-Awen Park and the Blue Bridge. The river park will feature 12 large-scale works and remain installed through November 1, two weeks after the competition closes.
Artist registration opens June 1 and is open to international applicants. The $40 registration fee is waived for artists from Kent, Ottawa, Allegan, and Barry counties. Last year's event drew 470,000 visitors and generated an estimated $28 million in local economic activity.
